Committee Heads are responsible for overseeing and guiding society members within a specific focus or operational goal. As key facilitators within the organization, they help translate vision into action at the committee level.
To be considered for a Committee Head position, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Active Membership: Must have been an active and engaged member of the DAY Society for at least one full season
Positive Reputation: Maintains a positive, proactive attitude and respect in all interactions
Demonstrated Drive: Shows initiative, follow-through, and a willingness to support team goals
Core Responsibilities Include:
Facilitating monthly committee meetings, including agenda planning and post-meeting follow-ups
Submitting monthly progress reports or updates to Executive board
Coordinating projects, events, or initiatives aligned with their committee’s mission
Providing mentorship and guidance to committee members
Gives direct feedback to Executive Board on society-wide programming, campaigns, or service efforts
* Committee Heads have made excellent predecessors to Executive Board positions due to their deep understanding of the society’s operations, mission, and culture.
The Program Educator (PE) is responsible for training all new members of DAY. They guide new members through our 5 session SunnyDay onboarding program and can request Program Educator Assistants (PEAs).
To be considered for PE, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Active Membership: Must have been an active and engaged member of the DAY Society for at least one full season
Organized and Punctual: Comfortable enforcing guidelines and holding others accountable with fairness and professionalism
Demonstrated Teaching Potential: Confident managing timelines, responsibilities, and grading of assignments. Has prior experience in leadership roles in and/or outside of DAY.
Core Responsibilities Include:
Overseeing the entire onboarding process of new members
Ensure the grading of all new member assignments including proctoring the final exam
Attending all 5 weekly sessions during intake season
Submitting monthly progress reports or updates to Executive board
Helping coordinate recruitment schedule and new member schedules
*Program Educators have made excellent predecessors to Judicial Board positions due to their deep understanding of our organization's governance and role with disciplinary matters.
Executive Board Members are integral to the core functions of our organization. Designed for individuals who are passionate about youth development, service, leadership, and social impact, these members serve as role model within the DAY Society. They guide our vision, manage operations, and collaborate across teams to ensure that our programming initiatives and values are carried out with excellence.
To be considered for a Committee Head position, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Active Membership: Must have been an active and engaged member of the DAY Society for at least one full year (2 seasons consecutively)
Driven and Proactive: Ambitious, driven to learn and make our organization better
Demonstrated Leadership: Has served DAY at a capacity going above and beyond a general member, and/or has leadership experience in other outside organizations.
Core Responsibilities Include:
Attending weekly E-board meetings
Submitting monthly progress reports
Manage committees, events, and day-to-day operations
Conceptualize new committees and future direction for the Chapter
